Woke up on a gorgeous Saturday morning, ready for a hike. Sun was shining and no rain in the forcast. I got to the trailhead of Peterson Creek with my Xtratufs on and set out. The trail I set out on was 5.5 miles to the lake and along the trail, there were 5 geocaches waiting to be found. The trail started out super easy with a nice gravel trail, mostly flat. Then the gravel ended. Being Southeast Alaska there was only one thing the trail could be: muddy. It took about 3.5 hours to make it all the way back to the lake and I made it there without getting my pants super dirty. You can see how muddy my Xtratufs are, but keep in mind this picture was taken before I faceplanted in the mud. Yup. I got real dirty on this trail. It took a almost two hours to get back. 11 miles in all. It was a long day, but it sure was fun.
