Team in Training that is for the Austin Marathon in February 2018! Team in Training (TNT) is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which is a non profit with the mission of LLS is to work towards finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
As many of my friends and family know, my mom is a survivor of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is one of the strongest women I know, having fought through five rounds of chemo, all with a smile. As a survivor, she spent a few years volunteering her time and energy with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to complete both the Rock and Roll Marathon in Phoenix and a Disney Marathon in Orlando, as well as hiked the Grand Canyon, all with with Team in Training.
Now it is my turn! If she can do it, so can I. I did Relay for Life for four years, but never trained like this. A marathon requires training for your body and your mind.
With this, I need your help. I am doing this for LLS because they helped my mom and my family during our time of need. Without help, my mom would not be here today. There are patients out there who are relying on LLS for support right now. They need my help--and yours. I have a fundraising goal of $2400. Please visit my fundraising page (http://pages.teamintraining.org/msla/austin18/HKelchner) to donate or you can mail me a check made out to the "Leukemia and Lymphoma Society". EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS. No donation is too small--every one gets me closer to my goal.
If you can't make a donation for whatever reason, another way to help me, is by sending me inspiration and motivation. Every day I train, I remind myself why I am doing this and who I am doing this for. But I can always use other stories to inspire me if you have them. Please send me your cancer stories to fuel my motivation, or simply send me any sort of inspiration. I couldn't do this without the support of friends and family. Together as my team, we can make a difference for someone with blood cancer.
